The USTA NorCal Board of Directors passed the following resolution at its December 2004 meeting:
If/when the league players are listed in TPI, the only ratings shown for them will be their DNTRP ratings, when it exists.
For non-league players, unless they have a tournament rating that would be used and posted, their ratings should be computed by TPI and rounded to a ½ point, using the same algorithm as used by DNTRP.
This action was taken to protect the integrity of the league program so that league players would not be able to monitor their DNTRP level by logging into TPI.
As a result of this resolution, TPI ratings will no longer be displayed as 3.125 but as a level, 3.5. If you would like to comment about this change in how TPI ratings are displayed, please CLICK HERE and send us your thoughts.
